This privacy policy explains which personal data we process when you visit our webshop, place an order with us or contact us, why we do so and what rights you have.

1. Who is responsible?

1.1  The controller is LORE VAN KEER BV, De Beauffortstraat 1, 1860 Meise, Belgium, company number 0578.912.727.

2. What data do we process and why?

2.1  Orders and delivery. We process your name, billing and delivery address, e-mail address, telephone number, the jewellery and options you ordered, and your order history. This allows us to process your order, deliver it or prepare it for collection, and keep you informed. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

2.2  Payment. Your payment is handled by the payment provider you choose. We receive confirmation of your payment and limited data such as the payment method, but no full card numbers. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

2.3  Invoicing and accounting. We keep invoice data in our accounting records. Legal basis: our legal accounting and tax obligations.

2.4  Customer account and wishlist. If you create an account or save jewellery to a wishlist, we process your login details, address details and the pieces you save. Legal basis: performance of the contract, at your request.

2.5  Customer service, returns, repairs and complaints. When you contact us, we process your contact details, the content of your message, any photos and the details of your purchase. Legal basis: performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in handling your request properly.

2.6  Newsletter and e-mails. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your e-mail address, name, preferences, purchase history and whether you open and click on our e-mails. This allows us to send you relevant e-mails. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every e-mail. If you are a customer, we may also send you e-mails about similar products without a subscription, unless you object. You can opt out of these free of charge with every order and in every e-mail.

2.7  Reminders about an incomplete order. If you have consented to our e-mails and do not complete an order, we may send you a reminder. Legal basis: your consent.

2.8  Website analytics and improvement. With your consent, we measure how visitors use our webshop: which pages they view, how they search and navigate, and where they get stuck. For this purpose, we also use anonymous session recordings and heatmaps, in which any data you enter is masked. Legal basis: your consent via the cookie banner.

2.9  Advertising. With your consent, we measure the results of our advertising on Google, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, and show you relevant ads based on your visit to our webshop. Legal basis: your consent via the cookie banner.

2.10  Security and fraud prevention. We and our webshop provider process technical data such as your IP address to secure the webshop and prevent fraudulent payments. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure webshop.

2.11  Legal obligations and disputes. We may use or disclose data where the law requires us to, or to defend our rights in a dispute. Legal basis: a legal obligation or our legitimate interest.

3. Who do we share your data with?

3.1  We do not sell your data. We only share it with parties that help us run our webshop and services, and only to the extent necessary:

3.2  We have agreements with our processors on the protection of your data. For the data collected through the Meta pixel on our webshop, we are jointly responsible with Meta. For what Meta and other independent controllers subsequently do with that data, please refer to their own privacy policies.

3.3  We disclose data to public authorities or other third parties where the law requires us to.

4. Transfers outside Europe

4.1  Some of these parties, such as Shopify, Klaviyo, Google, Meta and Microsoft, also process data outside the European Economic Area, including in Canada and the United States. This only happens with appropriate safeguards: an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as for Canada and for US companies certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

5. How long do we keep your data?

5.1  We do not keep your data longer than necessary:

5.2  Once these periods have expired, we delete or anonymise your data, unless we need to keep it longer for an ongoing dispute.

6. Cookies

6.1  Our webshop uses cookies and similar technologies. We place strictly necessary cookies, for example for your shopping cart, checkout, login and remembering your cookie choice, without consent, because the webshop cannot work without them.

6.2  We only place all other cookies with your consent, which you give or refuse via our cookie banner:

6.3  You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings.

7. Your rights

7.1  You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to have its processing restricted, and to receive your data in a commonly used format or have it transferred.

7.2  You may object to processing based on our legitimate interest. You may object to the use of your data for direct marketing at any time, without giving a reason.

7.3  Where you have given consent, you may withdraw it at any time. This does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.

7.4  To exercise your rights, e-mail info@lorevankeer.com. We respond within one month. If we have doubts about your identity, we may ask you to verify it. Some data, such as invoices, we are legally required to keep, even if you ask us to erase it.

7.5  If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be, or with the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

8. Automated decision-making

8.1  We do not take decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Our webshop provider uses automated checks to block fraudulent payments, for example by temporarily blocking an IP address after repeated failed payments.

9. Security

9.1  We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unlawful use. Only staff who need your data for their work have access to it.

10. Minors

10.1  Our webshop is not intended for persons under the age of 18. If you believe your child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes

11.1  We may update this privacy policy, for example when we start using new services. The most recent version is always available on this page, with the date of the last change at the top.
